For candidates

Frequently asked questions.

Direct answers. No vague language. If your question is not here, write to careers@koromanda.com.

How much does this cost me?

Koromanda does not charge candidates a placement fee. This is in line with the WHO Global Code of Practice on the International Recruitment of Health Personnel and the broader principle of employer-pays recruitment. Certification costs (VCA, NEN 3140, Dutch language) are funded by Koromanda against the deployment contract. You do not pay upfront.

What you do cover: your own passport fees, medical examination if required, and personal travel within India to attend training or visa appointments.

When will I be deployed?

Realistic timeline from a complete application to your first day on site in the Netherlands is 4–7 months. The variance depends on certification calendar, IND processing queues, and role-specific requirements. Anyone telling you faster is not being straight with you.

Can I bring my family?

Yes. The legal pathway exists under family reunification rules. In practice:

  • You travel first, alone, and start work
  • After approximately 6 months of stable employment, you can initiate the family reunification process
  • The process itself takes a further 3–6 months
  • Income thresholds apply — your role and salary determine eligibility

Total realistic time from your arrival to your family joining: 9–18 months. We support the process; we do not promise specific timelines.

What if I fail certification?

Certification completion is a precondition of deployment. We invest substantially in your training, and we expect completion.

If you fail an initial attempt, we offer one re-take within the standard programme cost. If you do not complete after the re-take, deployment does not proceed. The cost we have invested is not charged back to you, but the deployment ends.

This is a hard rule because clients depend on certified workers. We cannot deploy uncertified people regardless of how much we have spent.

Is this a labour agency or a real job?

Neither, exactly. Koromanda is your employer of record. We are a registered Dutch employer operating under Waadi/Wtta. You sign an employment contract with Koromanda, not with the client. The client uses your labour but is not your employer. You are paid by Koromanda on Dutch payroll, with Dutch social security, at the applicable CAO rate.

This is structurally different from labour agencies that pay below market or operate outside the regulated framework.

Do I get paid in Indian rupees or euros?

Euros. Paid into a Dutch bank account, which we help you open in Week 1.

What is the salary?

The applicable CAO (collective bargaining agreement) rate for your role and seniority. We do not undercut Dutch workers. Specific salary ranges depend on role, certification level, and experience. You see the exact figure in your offer letter before you accept.

What about housing?

Confirmed housing is arranged before you arrive. Typically shared accommodation for the first 3–6 months, with the option to move to independent housing once you are settled. Rent is deducted from salary at fair-market rates documented in your contract.

Can I switch employers after I arrive?

Yes, subject to immigration rules. Your work permit is typically tied to Koromanda as employer for the initial period. You can change after the relevant employer-binding period ends, provided you meet ongoing immigration criteria. We do not block reasonable career moves.

What if the role does not work out?

The employment contract includes standard Dutch notice periods. If you wish to leave, normal notice applies. If the role is terminated by the client, Koromanda — as your employer — works to redeploy you to another client. There is no automatic deportation; your work permit covers your employment with Koromanda, not a specific client.

Are you registered with the Indian government?

We are working through the relevant registrations for international recruitment from India. Status will be published on this site once confirmed. [verification pending — current registration status to be confirmed before publication.]

How do I know you are legitimate?

Fair question. Here is what you can independently verify:

  • Koromanda B.V. is a registered Dutch company
  • Our EOR operations run through ThisWorks, a registered Waadi/Wtta-compliant provider
  • Once a deployment is live, we can introduce you to one current Koromanda technician already on site, with their permission
  • We do not ask for payment from candidates at any stage
  • Our compliance framework is published in full at Compliance

If anyone claiming to represent Koromanda asks you for money, report it immediately to report@koromanda.com.
